i guess we celebrated valentine’s day a little early!
this may come as a big surprise to some of you…
kathryn and i got married today!
wow. crazy right? we’ve known for a long time that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, and it made sense with kathryn’s insurance to get legally married now. we’re going to have a real ceremony some time next year and it’ll be SO fun!
we have lots of great pictures coming soon but here’s one i grabbed with my phone to tide you all over while our photographer works on getting the pictures together.

Three cheers to you both. For what it’s worth (you’ll just have to trust that my major life choice instincts are as solid as my book-gifting skills), my husband Justin and I did the same thing 5+ years ago. We’ve never once regretted our decision to “elope” to city hall and, like you will, had a 5-day kick-ass party later on – no drama, no details, just a pile of fresh picked blueberries, a stack of fresh tamales, (seemingly) endless kegs, our community and late night stargazing with our nearest and dearest.
